I would like to know which specie I have heard last summer in Italy.

1 Unidentified bird - Aves indet. courtship/singing
date: 2023-07-27
location: Italy - Ponte Buggianese (comuni)

After 6 seconds you can hear the song I'm referring to. Sounds familiar somehow, but can't figure it out yet. Before and after there is a call that I think belongs to Common Reed Warbler.

I think you mean 'subsong' Albert? But I don't think it is a subsong but rather a kind of dialect. Song of Blackcap is a complicated matter and local dialects exist. The song of your bird reminds me a bit of the Blackcaps I heard in a certain region in the dept. Dordogne in France a couple of years ago.

Thanks Frank, bit late, sorry, but I agree. Heard different songs from Blackcaps in other places in Italy too. Interesting and confusing!
