De oudervogel is m.i. Keizer x Sneeuw (of Ross'?).

Here are some other photos showing a probable Keijzer x Sneeuwgans with young, those from 30.4.08 by Wilma Friesinga

maybe it is the same one with the same brood? are those places close together?

the other goose on these photos is a kolgans , however.  This could also be the other parent...

in this photo the other adult goose closest to the young is also a Kolgans!

I think we are going to have some very odd geese fly around once these young have their adult plumage!

Rijkstar , do you have any photos of the birds you have observed?

Those "other" birds seem very dark to me. In my opinion they are too dark and odd for Greater White-fronted Geese.

Balgzandpolder and Vooroever are about 25 km apart, as the goose flies. These could well be the same birds.

Those dark birds are supposedly the young of the presumed Emperor x Snow hybrid and another goose. The question is whether this other goose is a Greylag or a Greater White-fronted. As the young have very pink bills, and white at the base of the bill, I think the other parent may be the Greater White-fronted.
