Hello, Julia from Norway here. I'm (slowly, but progressing) registering all my observations (which I've kept record of) so far during my lifetime in observado.org. But I cannot register Dutch observations there! I'm aware of that this is a Dutch site and that you obviously keep record of sightings in the Netherlands apart, but for foreign users this is very annoying. And I don't really see the point either. I don't want to use two different places for my registrations. How can I solve this? (Extra annoying since the sighting I want to register is a lifer, so I don't have anywhere else...)

Hi Julia,
You can use world.observation.org to register all your observations (so the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of the world). Keep up the good work!

Obviously, I can't. I get this error message: id_country: error ! PLEASE_ADD_OBSERVATION_ON http://waarneming.nl

You used this site? For me, it works fine, and I can see my observations from the Netherlands and all the other countries.

Julia, for all countries  use https://world.observation.org
or https://waarneming.nl for the netherlands and https://waarnemingen.be for belgium  Login with your observation.org account

Yeah, I understand. Funny, though, all other countries worked just fine ;-).

But why are there so many versions? I'd think one Dutch and one English should do fine. Are there other features that are different?

I have exactly the same problem!
countries like New Zealand or Canada can be selected as a whole, but i am unable to select Sweden or France (as a whole countries).
This has stopped me from using Observado.org to keep track of my Lifelist.
Could this please be fixed? I would really like an online platform to keep track of my life list.
Thanks in advance.

per country:
france.observation.org or https://observation.org/waarnemingen_v7.php?groep=1&z=0&prov=45&family=0&datum=2016-12-29
sweden.observation.org or
etc . Select from from the geography tab on observation.org
your lifelist, open on observation.org 'my data' -> lifelist  or if you also visited Belgium and the Netherlands 'lifelist all domains'
If you regularly visit Belgium, the Netherlands and other countries, just use https://world.observation.org/
All depending on your specifics needs.

Dear Hisko,
the problem is that i visited these European countries and only kept track of species seen.
I have added dates but not added locations, so it is impossible to retrace where this bird was seen.
So therefore i would like to add a new observation with a chosen area that encompasses the entire country.
As I said, this is possible for Canada and New Zealand, Ghana and a load of other places but some other countries do not allow whole country additions of observations(for me personally Peru, Sweden, France and Jordan are problems).
Is it possible an area is made of these countries, I could check which other countries do not have a "whole country area" and send you a PM so this can be updated.
Thanks in advance,

Paulus

Paulus as soon a country has at least all provinces covered the country is disabled. Observations with a country as minimum precision are not available for scientific purposes

What I've done for old observations (for which I only remembered country or general area) is copy the location from someone else's (approved) sighting on world.observation.org.
Takes some time if you have many of these 'locationless' sightings but worth the effort to have all your sightings in one place

And of course nowadays you can just use the ObsMapp/iObs apps to enter sightings directly from the field!
Groet, Vincent
