Just noticed this a minute ago, and I'm going out the door...
I can see why there are divergent opinions on this wader, but my immediate impression is that it is definitely a juv Stilt Sandpiper! Initially this is based on the peculiarly angular shape of the body, the almost straight bill, and the head pattern (shape of super etc). Looking for diagnostic and unambiguous clues I think I can see some fine streaking of sorts (clearest in photo 4 at the bottom of the page). I believe that, in combination with all the other (admittedly subtle, and somewhat subjective) pro-Stilt features, these markings clinch the ID. Go for it is my advice!
Will have another look at these interesting pics as soon as I get a chance.
