I would like to know which species this is
It concerns this observation

As far as I know, Pegomyas do not have 2+4 dcs, so this would be a Muscidae.

Hi James,
thanks for the interesting link, even if I do not (or better "not enough") understand Dutch.
So it´s one of the 3 orange Muscidae. But my knowledge is not enough to distinguish them.

Quick translation of the main points:

1. There are 3 orange Muscidae.
2. Two of them have 2+4 dcs - Phaonia pallida and Thricops diaphanous.
3. Phaonia pallida has long hairs on the arista, Thricops has short hairs.

That would be my guess but the last time I tried to ID one of these orange flies, I got it very wrong ;D
