Hallo,

this water cricket I found in a small shadowy Viennese stream. According to various source it should either be V. caprai or V. saulii, excluding V. currens. Opinions anyone? Is it a female?

It is a female for it has slender hindfemurs without thick spines. However in this view it is hard to tell for sure. I think it is V. Saulii for the terminal spines seems to point downwards and the orange lateral spots are apparently quadrangular and not connected to the orange spot posterior of it.
