no, the device is called a zegen in Dutch  ;)
no idea, what 'zeeg' might be  ???
Eh.. not that I am, nor Wikipedia is aware of: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeeg
Or the second hit on google: http://www.markenleij.nl/werkgroepen/?p=611.

Looks like there are multiple names for the same thing!
Interesting :)
'Zegen' definitely seems to be the most used term of the two and the one used by authoritative sources like RAVON. Perhaps the use of 'zeeg' is based on a misunderstanding of the (grammatical) number of zegen.
Marijn is probably right.
'Zeeg' is an arched line (derived from the Dutch verb 'zijgen'). 'Zegen' is a fishing net, derived from the Latin 'sagena' with the same meaning)
http://www.etymologiebank.nl/trefwoord/zeeg1
http://www.etymologiebank.nl/trefwoord/zegen2

So the word your looking for is indeed 'zegen'  :)

I wouldn't mind if it is changed to 'zegen', but I have no rights :)

Vincent should have used 'you're' instead of 'your'  :-[
