Beste vrienden,

I signed a petition asking China to step up to protect endangered
shorebirds. Will you join me?

There are just 100 breeding pairs of spoon-billed sandpipers left
on earth, making them one of the most endangered bird species in the
world. But thanks to illegal trapping, they could soon be gone forever.

Mist nets -- put up to illegally catch birds for the meat industry
-- catch all shorebirds indiscriminately, including these critically
endangered spoon-bill sandpipers and other threatened species.
Conservationists in China reported the practice to authorities, but so
far their pleas have gone unanswered.

I signed a petition asking the government to crack down on
shorebird trapping. Wil you please sign too?

     Thanks!
