Dear Peter,
Rhys Green passed your stone-curlew e-mail on to me. I manage RSPB's stone-curlew work in Eastern England.
The bird would appear to be one ringed in England, though we would have fitted 3 colour-rings. I am assuming that 2 of the colour-rings are obscured in the photo or have been lost. The bird would have been ringed as a chick, but I'm unable to identify the bird without the full ring combination. However, we did not start using light blue rings until 2006, so it would not have been ringed before then.
Thank you for sending your record.
Kind regards
Tim Cowan
De vraag die ik heb gesteld was
today, a stone curlew was present in The Netherlands, in Wassenaar. Here you can see details https://waarneming.nl/waarneming/view/168987120. As you can see on one of the pictures, the bird was ringed. The right tibia has a light blue ring (or perhaps white) and the left tarsus a metal ring. Could this bird be one of yours?
kind regards,
Peter Lindenburg
