thanks in advance Ingrid Altmann
In my opinion, Scirtidae are not that easy as larvae and usually needs detailed study of the mouthparth. However, as this larva is broad throughout I think it is closer to Scirtes sp. The larvae of Cyphon is generally smaller and Helodes for instance is broad in the anterior part and progressively becoming smaller. Perhaps Jan Cuppen has another opinion.
Thank you again Ton!
So I will note Sciritidae spec.
It is very probably a Scirtes-species when found in stagnant water, an Elodes-species when found in running water.
Hello Jan,
a beaver dammed the creeked at this Point and after the damm the water flows very slowly.
I found the larva in a little bay, I think with stagnant water.
Thank you very much for your help!
