Citaat van: Tobias Seifert op september 25, 2023, 10:07:00 AMThere are a few problems with Carabus sylvestris https://old.observation.org/soort/info/541506

let me put it more clearly

Species are incorrectly synonymised to Carabus sylvestris https://old.observation.org/soort/info/541506

WRONG SYNONYM:
Carabus purpurascens  https://old.observation.org/soort/info/889690

it is a synonym of:
Carabus violaceus purpurascens https://old.observation.org/soort/info/604847

details: Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera (2017), see my first request

WRONG SYNONYM:
Carabus nivalis https://old.observation.org/soort/info/891065

is a synonym of:
Synuchus vivalis https://old.observation.org/soort/info/21368
source: https://www.biolib.cz/en/taxon/id4172/

WRONG SYNONYM:
Carabus angustatus https://old.observation.org/soort/info/890945

is a synonym of:
Pterostichus quadrifoveolatus https://old.observation.org/soort/info/21360
source: https://www.biolib.cz/en/taxon/id4081/

I hope this helps and is formulated in an understandable way. Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Species group butterflies:

Spindasis used to be considered as a subgenus of Cigaritis but has been reinstalled as full genus. There are some species in the database under both names.

Cigaritis elwesi should be a synonym of Spindasis elwesi
Cigaritis lohita should be a synonym of Spindasis lohita
Cigaritis syama should be a synonym of Spindasis syama
Cigaritis vulcanus should be a synonym of Spindasis vulcanus

It would also be nice if the respective English common names could be migrated to the leading scientific name.

i can set the species <->synonyms but i will not change the species names, i am also missing the taxonomic reference on which you based this post. The proces would be easier if you post like https://forum.waarneming.nl/index.php/topic,57476.msg2581176.html#msg2581176

Taxonomic references:
Checklist of the Butterflies of Indo-China

Spindasis elwesi
Spindasis lohita
Spindasis syama
Spindasis vulcanus

The recognition as full genus is amongst others based on the presence of an androconial hairtuft on underside hindwing in Spindasis males that lacks in Cigaritis sensu stricto

Hey Hisko,

Rhodostrophia cretacearia
https://old.observation.org/soort/view/184684

is synonym to

Rhodostrophia cretacaria Rebel, 1916
https://old.observation.org/soort/info/781828

I always prefer to refer to Lepifporum, and because they synonomize both species I would say we do the same. Hisko, can you make Nemapogon wolffiella a synonym of koenigi? So keep koenigi as the official name.

Hello! Oxyopes heterophthalmus has double entry:

-Oxyopes heterophthalmus (https://observation.org/species/23899/) this one is correct (https://www.gbif.org/es/species/2178930)(https://wsc.nmbe.ch/species/24716).
-Oxyopes heterophtalmus (https://observation.org/species/882579/) this one is incorrect.

Thank you.
M. Pilar Torralba

those are already synonyms. We can not delete species. If species are already synonym they do not need to be mentioned here

Clanoptilus strangulatus (Malachiinae/Melyridae)
https://observation.org/species/22808/

is a synonym of

Anthomalachius strangulatus
https://observation.org/species/848738/

according this paper (2009):
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/288490405_71_Tshernyshev_SE_2009_Anthomalachius_a_new_genus_of_soft-winged_flower_beetles_Coleoptera_Malachiidae_Zootaxa_Vol1651_P65-68_7_Figs

The synonymy isn't established on observation.org and subsites

Thank you

Hubert
:right:
I made Anthomalachius strangulatus a synonym to Clanoptilus strangulatus as the latter name is still used in Nederlands Soortenregister. This may change in the future, when I will swap the synonymy.

Ze staan al als synoniem, maar Psodos (ID 161216) is de huidige naamgeving. Kan die primair worden? Het gaat om de volgende twee namen:

beste admin Nachtvlinders,

de Groene korstmosuil staat bij ons als Nyctobrya muralis maar de huidige naam is Bryopsis muralis:
https://www.nederlandsesoorten.nl/linnaeus_ng/app/views/species/nsr_taxon.php?id=166929

zou je dit in orde willen maken?
bvd groetjes David

Name neu (heutig): Bryopsis muralis

beste admin Nachtvlinders,

sorry, but I can's speak netherlands so I write in englisch.
David gave me the link to this forum.
I have somne data sets of my own in Observation.nrw as the species "Mesapamea didyma". In Observation one can find also "Kleine Getreide-Halmeule - Mesapamea secalella". Both names refer to the same species.
I have often found different synonymous names of one species in Observation but in this case it looks as if the system doesn't know that both names are synonymous.
Is it correct that usually the name with a german species name also is the internal correct name in Observation.nrw? For example "Ulmen-Gelbeule - Xanthia gilvago" while the other name "Cirrhia gilvago" is given without a german name.
So would it be correct to change my data sets from "Mesapamea didyma" to "Kleine Getreide-Halmeule - Mesapamea secalella"? Or should didyma become the correct name according the the netherlands name list?
Unfortunately it seems that it is not clear which is the correct name as it differs from here
https://www.nederlandsesoorten.nl/linnaeus_ng/app/views/species/nsr_taxon.php?id=166533
to
https://lepiforum.org/wiki/page/Mesapamea_secalella
At least both names should be made to synonyms of each other but which name should be used as the "correct" one?

When I changed Aetheria dysodea to the seemingly correct name Hecatera dysodea I must have made some kind of mistake because after that the name "Kompasslattich Eule - Hecatera dysodea" always occurs double in the list when one types "dysodea". It seems that some other species - especially Aggregates - occur double, e.g. "Getreide /Didyma Halmeule - Mesapamea secalis / secalella" occurs double and also "Getreide Halmeule (Sammelart) - Mesapamea secalis agg" occurs althouth they are synonymous.

Did I understand David right that the observation-names should be made as actual as possible? In this case I would mention that a lot of Xanthia species are now called Cirrhia according to the lepiforum.
I myself do not like this always changing names so I just mention this - for me it's ok to use Xanthia because I am used to this name.

kindest regards,
Ludger
