Animal Demography Unit

Free!! Klaas-Douwe Dijkstra is part of a team involved in African dragonflies. He has written a awesome chapter in a book, and it is free to download for the next seven days. He writes: "With 40 pages and many illustrations, the chapter on dragonflies and damselflies by Suhling, Sahlen, Gorb, Kalkman, Dijkstra & Van Tol (2015) is the most up-to-date general introduction to their systematics and diversity, morphology and physiology, ecology and behaviour, and research techniques. Available here for seven days: http://we.tl/OmMKJcBgKx "
The illustration below is a figure in the chapter. It shows our best guess at species richness of the dragonflies and damselflies across the main river catchments of Africa. Lots still needs to be found out about the detailed distributions. Which is why we are doing OdonataMAP, and Klaas-Douwe is a big supporter of this atlasing initiative!
