I think it will be quite difficult to find these animals.
You may find the Beaver in the Oostvaardersplassen, but since it's a very shy animal it's very likely you will only find traces of them.
There are some Common Treefrogs in Limburg, but since it's a rare species the exact location is hidden.
The Fire Salamander is also found in Limburg, but since it's even rare than the Common Treefrog, the locations are hidden.
Eurasion Spadefoots are seen in Overijssel, but the locations are hidden too.
If you want to see a Root Vole, I'd suggest Texel.
Moor Frogs are very often found in De Houtwiel, in Northern Friesland.
There is a large population of European Hamsters in Limburg. But they're quite shy, it may be hard to find them.
The Hooded Merganser is very rare in Holland, most of the birds have escaped. There is one in Overijssel, and at the moment we don't know if it's an escape or a wild bird.
Ruddy Ducks are not native Dutch birds, but you can see them near the Oostvaardersplassen in the Lepelaarsplassen.
American Bullfrogs are very rare, and the few animals that have been discovered, were escapes.

I hope you may find the species you are looking for ;).

For American Bullfrogs you better go to Belgium and then to De Roost in Veerle http://waarnemingen.be/gebied/info/29021
For Ruddy ducks you can go to Lepelaarsplassen that's in the Province of Flevoland near Lelystad and Almere
If you want some more places to find exotic species ,such as mandarin duck, woodducks, muscovy ducks and other ducks or other birds like monkparakeets, ask and then I give them here in this topic.  :duim:

Hi Mark,

Most of these species you shouldn't be looking for in the Netherlands. You'd better visit some other European country where they are much more easy and much less rare! (they are hided because they are rare and vulnerable in the netherlands)

Root Vole - Microtus oeconomus has a subspecies that can only be found in the Netherlands,  but populations are under pressure and they are difficult to get good views. And trapping them is prohibited except with a special permit!

Moor Frog - Rana arvalis is not that rare.
http://waarneming.nl/soort/view/446
But you might be already a little late in season.

For exotics the Netherlands is a hotspot. There's many species you can view over here. I do however wonder why you want to see ruddy duck? I thought there were quite a few in Brittain? (For Ruddy Duck, visit the Starrevaart!) Bullfrog is not in the Netherlands at the moment (luckily).
We do have loads of exotic ducks and Geese. But also all kinds of fish and arthropods.
Groet,

Wouter Teunissen

Thanks, I have not been able to visit places in Europe for those species, I was hoping for people who have been studying them may show me, I have never seen a salamander or these species, but if I do not see them then I would not be too disapointed but I really want to see Root vole.

The main reason for my trip is for exotics as I am studying them and would like to see Ruddy duck outside Britain, and any other exotics.

Thanks

Mark

Here are some other places were you can find some exotic species.

Egyptian Goose: You can find them almost everywhere in The Netherlands.
Bar-headed Goose: Mostly along the rivers like the Rijn, Waal, Ijssel and Maas.
Mandarin Duck: You can find them mostly in the delta of the IJssel river and in brooks on the Veluwe and in brooks in Limburg.
Ring - Necked Parakeet: You can find them mostly in Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam.
Monkparakeet: You can find them in Apeldoorn and in Hellevoetssluis
Canadian Goose: Almost everywhere in The Netherlands.
Flamingo: You can find them in Het Zwillbrockervenn just over the border in Germany
Woodduck: You can find one in Tiel ,http://waarneming.nl/waarneming/view/47241590?_popup=1, but the most woodducks are found in Zoetermeer ,http://waarneming.nl/gebied/view/5038.
Muscovy duck: Also in Zoetermeer http://waarneming.nl/gebied/view/5038 and there are some in Park Sonsbeek in Arnhem.
Pheasant: You can find them everywhere in the Netherlands.
House crow: You can find them in Hoek van Holland and there are +/- 20 of them. They are around a fishrestaurant "Het Vispaleis".

Hoek van Holland - Corvus splendens - huiskraai - house crow

  • As far as I know the only population in Europe, maybe interesting to look, from what I have heard they should be pretty easy to find. I believe there are around 25 birds there.

Of de waarnemer moet heel vaak de verkeerde soort hebben ingevoerd. Ik heb verder geen verstand van die plaatsen, heb het maar gewoon opgezocht op Waarneming.

There's also a special Mandarin duck in Arnhem in Park Sonsbeek.

The photos are mine. :P  I went two times to Sonsbeek because the first time I hadn't seen her but the second time I went there with some bread and boom she came with her husband.
